Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog where I desire to bring awareness to the MS disease through my transparent everyday journey. By sharing a piece of my life, I wish to promote change and inspire those who read. Please enjoy and share these stories with someone who could use a word of encouragement.

What do you do when life suddenly changes because your health is compromised, you have an injury or an accident, or you’re diagnosed with an autoimmune disease? Do you give up? Absolutely NOT!!! You continue to live your life; you continue to pray and believe God for your healing. Healing may come in the form of care from the doctors or from within, your faith and miracles can certainly occur.
I personally like many have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, where the immune system attacks the myelin sheath causing a disconnect in communication between the brain and the body. Think of when you have a lamp and the cord is frayed causing it to sometimes go on and off, where if you move the cord or hold it a certain way the light comes on. That’s a little comparison, so you understand. This has affected my mobility and ever since I’ve been fighting to get better, to keep moving, to continue to share my knowledge, learn, grow, contribute…to LIVE. Every day is different, and when I feel good, I can do anything I put my mind to; and I do mean that literally. Every step I take I have to think about, placement of my foot, use of my cane etc. I cannot stand on long lines because of MS and the fact that I have screws and rods in my back. When I travel, I get a wheelchair to be transported SAFELY through the airport.
Recently, I went to a store and there was a line outside, my friend went to the door and the guard would not let her in, however when he saw I clearly had a mobility issue, he let me in. Unfortunately, I had to go back to the same store, and I asked if they would make an accommodation for my disability, which is clearly visible and was told I had to stand on the line, they had no plan in place to assist people with disabilities. Safety is most important, people with disabilities have to eat, shop for clothes, food, go to appointments, concerts, travel etc., and we all have a right to be safe as we are trying to live our lives.
