Hi everyone!
I am so glad you’re here today. Whether you’ve been walking this path for years or you’ve just received a diagnosis that feels like it’s turned your world upside down, I want you to take a deep breath. Feel the air in your lungs. You are here, you are seen, and you are loved.
Living with Multiple Sclerosis is a journey that none of us asked for, but it’s a journey we are navigating together. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on a phrase that has become the heartbeat of our community: “More Strong.”
It’s more than just a catchy slogan. It’s a philosophy. It’s a way of life. When I first started the Angels Hearts for Hope Foundation, my goal was to share the healing I found through my own journey. I realized that being "strong" wasn't enough. We have to be more than that. We have to be "More Strong."
But what does that actually look like when your body feels like it’s betraying you? How do we find resilience when the fatigue is heavy and the future feels uncertain? Today, I want to walk through the "More Strong" guide, the essentials for every MS Warrior who is ready to move from surviving to thriving.
The Foundation: Mindset Over Matter
Have you ever felt like your mind is telling you "yes," but your body is screaming "no"? I’ve been there. I’ve lived those days where even the simplest task feels like climbing a mountain.
The first step to being "More Strong" is a radical shift in mindset. We have to learn to separate our identity from our diagnosis. You are an MS Warrior, yes, but you are also a mother, a friend, a child of God, a creator, and a light in this world. MS is something you have; it is not who you are.
As it says in Isaiah 40:31: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Renewing our strength starts in the mind. It’s about practicing "realistic optimism." This doesn't mean we ignore the pain or pretend the symptoms aren't there. It means we acknowledge the struggle, but we refuse to let it have the final word.

Vulnerability is Your Superpower
One of the hardest things about being a "strong" person is admitting when you’re not okay. In our community, we believe that transparency is the bridge to healing.
I’ll be honest with you: there are mornings when I wake up and the first thing I feel is fear. Fear of a new flare-up, fear of losing my independence, or just the weight of the unknown. I used to think I had to hide those feelings to be a good advocate. I thought I had to be perfect.
But I’ve learned that our cracks are where the light gets in. When we share our struggles, we give others permission to do the same. Are you holding onto a burden today that you weren’t meant to carry alone? Maybe it’s time to reach out and share your story. There is an incredible, vital power in saying, "I’m struggling, but I’m still here."
The Pillars of the “More Strong” Lifestyle
To thrive as an MS Warrior, we need more than just good thoughts: we need a plan. Here are the pillars we live by:
1. The Power of Prayer and Stillness
Our spiritual health is the anchor. Before the world starts demanding things from you, see quiet time. Whether it’s five minutes of deep breathing or an hour of heartfelt prayer, connecting with your Creator reminds you that you are part of something much larger than yourself. Peace is a choice we make every morning.
2. Movement as Medicine
Exercise is a cornerstone of the "More Strong" movement. I’m not talking about running a marathon (unless that’s your thing!). I’m talking about intentional, gentle movement that honors your body’s limits. It might be a short walk, some stretching, or seated exercises. The key is to keep moving. Movement keeps our spirits high and our bodies resilient.
3. Listening to Your Body
This is one of the most courageous things you can do. Sometimes, being "More Strong" means having the courage to say, "I need to rest." I’ve written before about the importance of listening to your body, and it remains one of the most vital lessons for any warrior. Take a mental health day when you need it. Be well by knowing when to push and when to pause.

Building Your Army: Community and Advocacy
None of us can be "More Strong" in a vacuum. We need each other.
I started this foundation because I didn't want anyone to feel the isolation I felt in the early days of my journey. We are building a movement: a collective of survivors, caregivers, and advocates who refuse to let MS dim our light.
When we stand together, our voices are louder. Advocacy isn't just about big events; it’s about the way you talk to your doctor, the way you educate your family, and the way you encourage the person sitting next to you in the waiting room.

Practical Tips for Your Daily Journey
I want to leave you with a few "soft imperatives" to carry through your week:
Be kind to your spirit. Stop the negative self-talk. You are doing the best you can with the tools you have.
Hydrate and nourish. Your body is a temple; treat it with the respect it deserves.
Find one thing to be grateful for. Even on the hard days, there is always a glimmer of light.
Connect with a fellow warrior. Send a text, make a call, or leave a comment on our blog.
A Heartfelt Thank You
As we wrap up this guide, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude.
To our amazing volunteers who give their time so selflessly: thank you. To the families and caregivers who are the silent backbone of our community: your love is unforgettable. And to you, the MS Warrior reading this: thank you for your courage. You inspire me every single day to keep pushing, keep praying, and keep believing in the power of hope.
We are on this journey together. It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it. Let’s keep walking toward a future where we aren’t just defined by a condition, but by the incredible resilience of our spirits.
Stay hopeful, stay courageous, and above all, stay More Strong.
With love and light,
