Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog where I desire to bring awareness to the MS disease through my transparent everyday journey. By sharing a piece of my life, I wish to promote change and inspire those who read. Please enjoy and share these stories with someone who could use a word of encouragement.

I recently lost my older sister Maria from a rare form of cancer that was aggressive. Heartbroken from such a devastating loss makes me once again assess my life and my mortality. I’m thankful that I know how much my sister Maria loved me and how much I loved her. Of course I miss her and as I’m writing this reflection tears are streaming down my face. You see we were three years apart and Maria was naturally a nurturer since she was a little girl. She was a girly girl and had to have her hair done which was beautiful, nails , and makeup complete with her favorite red lipstick! Maria was petite, cute, kind and fierce. She told it like it was without judgment and that made you love her even more. As an adult, she took care of our Dad when he became ill and then later she took great care of our mommy. She helped my brother and protected him. Not only that she helped raise my son and since I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis she would often help me in so many ways. I am forever grateful to have had such a loving sister. I will hold onto the wonderful memories of our childhood bike riding together, going to Great Adventures, family outings and vacations, hanging out in the clubs or at home playing our favorite albums. I had the privilege of being in a singing group with Maria and our childhood friend Tracy and so much wonderful , happy memories, too many to name. But I will never ever forget the love she had for me, her baby sister. Until we see each other again, always in my heart!

Rest In Peace my Angel!

In honor of Father's Day Month, Angels Hearts for Hope Foundation celebrates Patrick Prevost for Warrior Wednesdays! Learn more about Patrick every Wednesday in June. A SHINING LIGHT Meet Patrick Prevost, President MS Finest By Lisa Ray I met Patrick for the first time in 2016, shortly after my diagnosis Multiple Sclerosis. Upon seeing him I was familiar with his face and quickly realized he was a part of my church family. We hear it all the time “it’s a small world.” Patrick who I now call friend has been a source of encouragement for myself and others through sharing from his personal experience that you can live a quality life with MS and you are not alone. His selfless spirit shines bright and is evident in his smile. Patrick Prevost was born in Brooklyn NY, and grew up in Rosedale Queens with an older sister raised by loving parents. He attended St. Agnes High School in New York City and had aspirations of becoming a lawyer one day. For that reason, he attended John Jay to study criminal justice in pursuit of a Bachelors of Arts degree. Patrick was first diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis in August 2006, his first symptom was at 17 years old, while in the gym playing basketball he fell over (timber he exclaims) then quickly jumped up. Patrick said “I fell for no reason, quickly got up and stop playing. I was embarrassed of the incident.” He experienced balance issues, unexplained falls and movement of the leg, feeling the shakes with involuntary movement, but he proceeded to play it off well into his twenties, he hoped it would disappear or go away.
